All change at Horbury

Horbury School Year 9 Basketball Team have under gone an amazing transformation this season winning the U14 Wakefield Schools Basketball League and finishing runners up in the Wakefield Schools Tournament.

During Year 8 (U13) the team only claimed one victory throughout the whole season. This year they won 7 out of 10 League games, and finished runners up in the local area tournament. So, how have they undergone such a massive transformation in such a short space of time?

Team Member David Ramsey says 'the team has really come together this year, and the the spirit has been fantastic'.

This year has also seen the introduction of new players. Gary North and Andy McManus have made a huge impact, and existing members such as Danny Milburn and Robert Gibson have come of age.

P.E. Teacher Mr Thornton says he expects this team to dominate in the coming years, but at present there are more pressing issues. In a few weeks time they take on King's, Pontefract in a semi-final play off. Watch this space.
