S.P.I.R.I.T IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION

S.P.I.R.I.T. is a prominent part of all school life at Horbury and can be related to subjects in different ways.

S.P.I.R.I.T. can be related to P.E. in the following ways.

SELF CONFIDENCE

(i) Believe in your own ability.

(ii) Think about what you can do and your strengths.

POSITIVE ATTITUDE

(i) Bring he correct kit and arrive on time to every lesson.

(ii) Always try your best regardless of the activity.

INDEPENDENT LEARNER

(i) Practice on your own or with other students to improve your performance.

(ii) Find out more about P.E. through the Internet, Television or Radio.

RESPECT

(i) Behave towards other students and members of staff in a way which you would want them to treat you.

(ii) Be a good team member and work with all types of people for aq common goal.

(iii) Show a good sporting attitude in both victory and defeat.

INFORMED DECISIONS

(i) Use your knowledge and awareness to make the right choices in the game situation or to overcome a given task.

(ii) Analyse your perfromance and plan how to do it better next time.

TARGETS

(i) Always try to hit the target area when you are attacking.

(ii) keep a record of your performance in every activity and set yourself higher levels to achieve when you do the activity again.
