Business Case Studies - The 'businesses'
To start the case study you need to choose one of the five firms below. There are brief details of each company below, but clicking on the company name will give a more detailed profile of that firm.
- Aquamania Plc - Aquamania is a medium sized firm that last year had a turnover of £85 million. It produces powerboats which range from the smallest which is 30 foot in length and costs around £85,000 up to 75 foot boats costing in excess of £1 million.
- Road Hogs - Road Hogs is a partnership of two car enthusiasts who got together to produce sports cars. Their cars are at the luxury end of the market and range in price from £30,000 to £75,000. They are principally made by skilled craftsmen and can be customised to the customers requirements. Last year they had a turnover of £450,000.
- Musicalia Plc - Musicalia is a high volume producer of CDs and other associated products. Its production is highly automated and takes place in a completely dust-free environment. Its turnover last year was £175 million.
- The Shock Shop Ltd. - the Shock Shop is a medium-sized retailer of electrical goods. It has six shops in towns in the south-west of England. They sell a variety of electrical equipment ranging from personal computers and palmtop computers to stereos and other hi-fi.
- Dairyland - Dairyland is a medium sized dairy producer in the north of England. It produces eggs, milk and chickens and has recently invested in equipment to start small-scale cheese production.
